NU PANTZ II OUT NOW!!
Hello To All My Dino Friends!
It’s been a little bit since my last update and I’m sorry for that. I’ve been working on so much stuff for you all. I have video content I’m working on and new designs for the shop. There's even a bunch of Wild Dinosaur music that is coming together. Today, however, I'm bringing you something different.
My other project Nu Pantz has reached its climax and the final E.P. is out now. Titled Nu Pantz II, this is a record that has been in the works since Pat and I made the first record. The song Pleats (Grass Stains) was a song that was originally going to be on the first record but we pulled it because we felt it made the record a bit unbalanced. We forgot about it until we restructured the record and decided to go the way we did.
There were a few songs I had suggested as a follow up but those ultimately ended up as starting points for an upcoming Wild Dinosaur record. Stay tuned for that! There was one song that survived out of the other four or five tracks we pulled. The song that remained is Bored Shorts. I personally struggled with that song because I wanted to put vocals on it so bad, I just couldn’t do the song justice in lyrical content or vocal range so I leaned into my director's brain and decided to take the soundscape route.
Nu Pantz II was a pretty fun record to make. I think we struggled less on this record because we knew what Nu Pantz felt like more so than when we made the first record. Ginkgo Mamoa came from us not wanting to toss some ideas we had from the first record. And to me, Fried Grass is a nice walk into the sunset.
Nu Pantz as a name for us is dead but Pat and I will continue to make music together. Currently Pat is working on his first solo release that I sometimes lend a hand to. I’m super pumped for him to finish it and can’t wait to listen to it on repeat when it comes out. As I stated before I also have new music I have been working on and trying to figure out what goes where and Pat has been helping me with some of that.
I feel like These two Nu Pantz records are great parts 1 & 2. They go together. The ying to the others yang. I hope you get a chance to listen to them both as two sides of the same coin. There is also a video I made for Ginkgo Mamoa on the Wild Dinosaur YouTube channel and a new shirt and poster design in the merch store. Enjoy them all to your heart's content.
